Our site is dedicated to the art of Soviet diapositive film. This genre has not received wide acceptance world-wide, therefore let us describe what diapositive film ("Diafilm") is.
Look at the sequence of the slides below. Each sequence contains picture and accompanying text, making an illustrated story. Such film (which is called - diapositive film) has been viewed with help of so-called "diaprojector" (slide projector) on any white surface.
Mostly diapositive films were used to publish fairy tales, but also professional (like modern presentations) and educational (historical, geographical, etc) ones were popular.
This site presents the directory of Soviet fairytale diapositive films in the digital form. Besides you can find here some information about their authors and publishers.
